Zazzle
A couple of weekends ago I was awarded the opportunity to participate in my very first Bay to Breakers extravaganza. This event originated in 1912 as a spirit building event for San Franciscians after the tragic quake as well as to serve as a precursor to the Pan Pacific International Exposition. My, how the times have changed...although there are still many lucky enough to have a stronghold on the running gene, taking off on the 7 mile race across the city, the vast majority turn the city into a massive party parade ((beginning at 7am)). Costumes are created ((or nothing is worn at all)), drinks are ever-flowing & the old and young alike dance, skip and romp through the streets from the bay to the ocean, thanking mother nature for not causing complete destruction on that fateful day in 1903 and praising those who worked to rebuild San Francisco into the beautifully unique city it is today.
